The European Football for Development Network (EFDN) will host its 19th EFDN Conference from March 20-22, 2023 at the Benito Villamarín Stadium of Real Betis Balompié in Seville, Spain.
EFDN Conferences bring a unique opportunity for ESG/CSR experts and newcomers into the CSR world to learn from each other and share their insights about topics such as fundraising in CSR, environmental sustainability, anti-discrimination, social inclusion, online safeguarding, disability football, physical activity in younger and older population, or STEM education, among others. The format of the conference includes panels, breakout sessions, interactive study visits and roundtables, and offers multiple chances to network and connect with other EFDN members and experts related to ESG/CSR in football.

Nick Sore is speaking on behalf of UNHCR, during the 19th EFDN #Morethanfootball Conference in Seville from the 20th until the 22nd of March 2023.
Nick Sore is a Senior Refugee Sport Coordinator at the UN Refugee Agency’s headquarters in Geneva. Nick has more than 20 years’ experience of developing partnerships for and working with children and youth in Global North, Global South, development and humanitarian contexts. His previous roles have included working as UNHCR’s Global Adolescent and Youth Advisor and as a Child Protection Officer in the field. Nick has a degree in International Development and Food Policy and a Masters in International Human Rights Law and Public Policy”. His team works with sports and non-sports actors to leverage the potential of the sports eco-system for people who have been forced to flee.
Gerald Mballe is speaking on behalf of Special Olympics Europe Eurasia, after the Special Olympics Unified with Refugees Exhibition Match at the 19th EFDN #Morethanfootball Conference in Seville from the 20th until the 22nd of March 2023.
Gerald Mballe is the Special Olympics’ first-ever Advisor for the Unified with Refugees program, supporting its expansion and impact. His commitment to inclusive sports and social inclusion worldwide has led Gerald to take part in global convenings to promote the message of inclusion. Gerald also participated with Special Olympics international in a documentary on sport as a tool that changes life by including all, done by ESPN, the world-class broadcaster. He was awarded the title of Role Model for the integration of refugees through sports in schools, sports clubs, and workplaces in the ISCA awards citizen choice in 2021.
