Dick Lukkien and Ole Romeny hand out FC Emmen outfits to participants scoring in Drenthe
A special day for the participants of Scoren in Drenthe last Wednesday. None other than Dick Lukkien, head coach of FC Emmen, visited both groups at the Emmen and Hoogeveen locations. FC Emmen striker Ole Romeny joined him to jointly reward the participants with their own FC Emmen training clothes. After a motivational talk by Dick Lukkien, he congratulated all attendees on completing the first phase of the Scoring in Drenthe project. Then it was time for Dick and Ole to hand out the clothes to each person.

“We want to do everything we can to maintain ourselves this season. For this we will have to give everything, show courage and work together. Just like with your project, we will work together towards a goal and sometimes this involves trial and error. For you, it is important that you do everything to develop yourself and eventually step off the pitch with a nice job or diploma.”

The words of the FC Emmen head coach visibly impressed the participants. After a round of questions and receiving the clothes, it was time to start training. Dressed in their new clothes, they proudly entered the main field of De Oude Meerdijk as one team. All in the same FC Emmen clothing, they then worked through the planned football training.
About Scoren in Drenthe
During Scoring in Drenthe, youngsters and young adults work on their own development. For 24 weeks, they take part in group meetings and (football) training sessions. Every week, a group meeting led by USG Restart job coaches and two (football) training sessions led by FC Emmen Naoberschap are scheduled. After completing the first sixteen weeks, participants silently move on to the continuation of Scoring in Drenthe. The emphasis will then be on finding a suitable job, work experience or training.
