Devin’s Day at Hampden Park

On Saturday, it was Devin’s job to lead out the AFC first team at Hampden Park for the Betfred Cup Semi Final against Morton and after a fantastic win the team secured a place in the Cup Final!

Following the launch of Aberdeen FC Community Trust’s RedStart School Visit programme, Devin now attends one of AFCCT’s participation centres, located in the Northfield area of Aberdeen. The aim of this free to play football centre is to increase participation of children in the area, while also ensuring the inclusion of those from ethnic and religious minority backgrounds; creating a football environment which truly reflects the diverse make-up of the area. Football, like any other sport, should be a game for all.

As a keen footballer, Devin was delighted to be selected as mascot, “I started playing football at the age of 3 and won a trophy for the most improved player from Footstars, My dad wanted me to get better at football so I moved to an Aberdeen FC Community Trust centre for training after they visited my school, Holy Family RC. on my first day I was nervous but I found friends very quickly and now love it! I was inspired by Neymar Jr. because of his tricks and skills.”
