Delegation of Werder Bewegt visits KAA Gent Foundation in Belgium
At EFDN we’re always happy to see when delegations of our member clubs welcome each other in order to share experiences and to learn from each other’s knowledge of the social responsibility programmes they deliver.
In the past few days, Werder Bewegt, Werder Bremen’s social charity, paid a study visit to our Belgian member, the KAA Gent Foundation. On Wednesday, the members of Werder’s Sustainability department visited several socio-sports projects in the Nieuw Gent-Steenakker neighbourhood, the area in which the KAA Gent Foundation achieves its greatest social impact. This was followed on Thursday by a joint working meeting at the KAA Gent Arena, where expertise was exchanged and common challenges were discussed. In the process, the German group was able to gather many impressions of children’s and youth sport in different settings and obtained new ideas for their own work in Werder’s [SPIELRÄUMEN] programme.
“A big thank you goes to the KAA Gent Foundation. Thanks to their hospitality and openness, we were able to take valuable insights and experiences back to Bremen from the exchange,” summarised Henrik Oesau, Team Leader Social Affairs in the Sustainability department at Werder.
