Competing against each other in sport – working together in colour

Competing against each other in sport – working together in colour. This was the motto of the first season of the Bunten Liga at the beginning of the year. The Bunte Liga is the first league in Bremen that enables people with and without impairments to compete against other in team sports. In cooperation with the Bremen Football Association, SV Werder Bremen was able to organise four match days in the first season.

On each of the four match days, more than 20 teams competed against each other in three different age and level groups. On the final match day last Saturday, 25 teams came to Bremen-Arsten to compete against other teams for the last time this season.

In the end, OSC Bremerhaven was able to decide the season in its favour. The team from Bremerhaven received special recognition for its participation on all four match days, fairness on and off the pitch, as well as for winning many matches. All other teams finished in second place and were honoured with a medal, as a classic ranking system was not used.

The high number of participants on all match days confirmed the concept and the planning for the 2nd season in 2023 is already underway. All interested parties are hereby already invited to the kick-off of the 2nd season of the Bunte Liga in March 2023.
