COMMUNITY SPORTS DAY A HIT WITH LOCAL RESIDENTS
Earlier this week the Club supported Haringey Council’s Tottenham Sports Day for local residents, one of a number of summer activities taking place in the community over the coming weeks.
Coaches from Tottenham Hotspur Foundation delivered an afternoon of sports activities for children and their families, from games of five-a-side and skills practice to walking football.
The Spurs Nurse, a community healthcare practitioner employed by the Foundation, was offering health checks to residents on the day which included blood pressure and BMI checks as part of the Club’s commitment to helping to combat some of the health issues affecting the borough.
Richard Allicock, Community Development Manager, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: “The Tottenham Sports Day was a first for the local area and it was well received by residents who came by. It’s important to keep young people active during the summer holidays so events like this are perfect to get kids outdoors and playing sport.
“We’re running a variety of sports in the community for young people during the school summer holidays so please come along and get involved – it’s a great way to make new friends, keep active, play sport and have fun.”
