Come On, Let’s Play!: training with Shakhtar newcomers
Shakhtar Social organises training for children from different Ukrainian cities. Shakhtar newcomers Bogdan Mykhaylichenko and Neven Djurasek visited Come On, Let’s Play! training session for children with disabilities in Kyiv.
The girls and boys from 7 to 12 years old were able to play football in capital-based Academy A+. This session was special for children, because they were visited by Shakhtar newcomers Bohdan Mykhailichenko and Neven Djurasek. The players conducted the warming-up routine and did some exercises together with children. Both the project participants and footballers received bright emotions from the collective session.
“I am happy to be here today! It is good to see smiles on children’s faces. It is very important that we can give them these smiles in these hard times for Ukraine and Ukrainians. Such project makes it possible for children to see their heroes and feel that we are all part of the unified whole, that is, football.”
Neven Djurasek, Shakhtar player
Great emotions from this meeting! I think children had a good time. Everyone smiled. And it is an excellent experience for us as well: we played football with kids, made some exercises, talked, laughed. Children’s joy is the most important thing.

When the training session was over, Bohdan Mykhailichenko and Neven Djurasek gave some gifts to children and took commemorative picture. The club wants to remind that Come On, Let’s Play! project is implemented by the Shakhtar Social foundation with support of further partners. Children and coaches of the project are provided with the required equipment for training.
Furthermore, the club wants to point out that from February 24 to August 1, SCM businesses, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and FC Shakhtar have granted UAH 3 billion or about USD 100 million to help Ukraine and Ukrainians, with the amount increasing daily. Humanitarian aid has already reached over 11 million people throughout the country.
