Colour Blind Awareness join hands with The FA to broaden perceptions on colour blindness
Colour Blind Awareness (CBA) have long been on the forefront of spreading awareness regarding the condition that tends to hamper the daily lives of millions of people worldwide. Statistically, about 1 in 12 males and 1 in 200 females are known to be colour blind and this fact largely takes a back seat in sports, especially football.
In order to facilitate and help spread knowledge on the topic of colour blindness, Colour Blind Awareness, in collaboration with The FA Physical Education Team, held a workshop to provide insights to the staff of Aston Villa Foundation.
The club staff were educated on the disability and disseminated knowledge on how the condition affects every day life of people affected by it.
The workshop was part of Colour Blind Awareness’ #PrimaryColours project, funded by the UEFA Foundation & joint initiative of the organization, along with The FAPE Team and Premier League Primary Stars programme.
In the run to Colour Blind Awareness Day on September 6, EFDN is partnering with several other organizations such as Colour Blind Awareness itself by developing a comprehensive TACBIS (Tackling Colour Blindness in Sport) handbook that will serve as a guide on the topic. A website for TACBIS is also under development.
