Clubs celebrated International Women’s Day

Sunday was International Women’s Day, which is a day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women from all around the world, each year. We caught up with our member clubs who marked the event, highlighting their female coaches, players, staff, fans, and participants in the Football Industry.

Brentford Football Club

Brentford Football Club celebrated their female staff and gathered together some of the women that work at the Club and at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, to showcase their contribution and encourage women and girls to consider working in the football industry.
Brentford FC is one of only a few football clubs that are registered as an Inclusive Employer and actively seeks to encourage more women to apply for roles at the Club as it continues to grow its workforce. As things stand, the percentage of women working at the Club (taking out the First and B teams) stands at 27 percent. This may be higher than most other clubs but can be increased further. A number of key roles at the Club are currently held by women including Club Secretary, Head of Football Operations, Finance Director, Box Office Manager, Matchday Presentation and Events Manager and Fan and Community Relations Director.

Everton Football Club

Young Everton supporters met some of the many female figures who work at the club to find out more about their roles at the club.

The Saints Foundation highlighted the work they carry out in the local community all year round, to engage female participants in programmes such as walking football and Premier League Kicks.

Juventus

‘We can dream it and we can make it. If you ask ‘Why Football?’ Then we respond with ‘Why Not?’ The club celebrated International Women’s Day with a video of all Juventus Women’s goals from February. They were on fire!
