Club Brugge kicks off project ‘Sportief Scoort!’
Last week saw the kick-off of the ‘Sportief Scoort!’ project with Club Brugge visiting the Zeepreventorium pediatric rehabilitation centre in De Haan. The players and the rest of the Club Brugge party joined the patients in the challenge of living an active and healthy lifestyle.
Sporting afternoon in Zeepreventorium
The Zeepreventorium in De Haan is a medical pediatric rehabilitation centre for young people up to the age of 18 with the centre dealing with obese patients and other young people with complex medical conditions. With the ‘Sportief Scoort!’ project, Club Brugge Foundation is helping to provide the extra incentive and inspiration to motivate patients to exercise sufficiently.
A large delegation of 12 Club Brugge first team players were in attendance at De Haan to create an unforgettable afternoon for everyone involved. Also joining the party were the Club Brugge coaches Rik De Mil and Dirk Laleman, the Voetbalkraks (children with autism and behavioural problems) and the women’s team of Club Brugge who were led by coordinator Evie Beyers and vision coach Leo Van der Elst.
‘Huge motivation for young people’
The Club Brugge party received a warm welcome by all the youngsters with a nice dance act in the gym. Lien Sercu, an employee of the Zeepreventorium, was full of praise for the arrival of Club Brugge. “It is fantastic to see how Club Brugge commits itself every year to encourage our young people to move more. It is an enormous motivation for them to continue. They are really looking forward to seeing and meeting the players of Club Brugge. ”
Starting off with a football training session in the gym, all the participants then went for a short walk on the snowy beach and finished off the Sportief Scoort! launch day with a cup of hot chocolate in the Zeepreventorium to warm up.
