Children from Konnerud enjoyed Strømsgodset’s Blåtimen day
Prior to Strømsgodset last week’s game, children from Konnerud, a suburb of Drammen, were invited to a special day, organised within the framework of Strømsgodset’s community programme ‘Blåtimen’. Also the Norwegian football club Strømsgodset is located in the area of Konnerud.
The main focus of the Blåtimen day was set on promoting and enhancing joint cooperation between all the participating children. The day, full of activities, was blessed with sunshine giving the children from Konnerud many opportunities to participate in activities on the pitch.
As part of the day, two A-team players, Andreas Hoven and Mounir Hamoud joined the activities of the ‘Blåtimen’ programme. Andreas, also from Konnerud, was of the opinion that it would be great to share his experiences with the children. “First of all, if you want to be good at football, it is important to have fun with the ball. Play a lot of football – don’t be afraid to try, even if you miss or fail the first time.”
Fun with a great deal of enthusiasm
During the past years, Mounir has already joined several Blåtimen activities. This time, he gave the children the advice that “if you want to succeed as a team, each player needs to feel safe and thrive with his teammates. Everyone must take care of each other and wish each other the best.”
Head of CSR, Lage Sofielund experienced the day as being full of fun. He regards especially the attendance of both players as being from great importance.
“It’s fun to see all the enthusiasm. One of the greatest things of these days, are the meetings between the children and their role models. When asking the children earlier if they have ever been afraid on the pitch, many of them raised their hand. Therefore, it was very valuable that Andreas underlined the importance of daring to succeed. It will be exciting to follow up on this” said Lage.
Giving each other compliments is the key
Lage Sofielund concluded the day by asking the children about possibilities how to create a safer atmosphere, where nobody has to fear to make problems on the pitch. Linus, a younger child from Konnerud, gave such a good response that he received a signed jersey from Andreas Hoven and Mounir Hamoud as a gift.
“I think it would help if we give each other good compliments”, said Linus.
We believe this too.
“Thanks to Konnerud for the fantastic Blåtimen day. We wish the whole team good luck with all the great activities that are being done for the nearly 3,000 members.” said Mounir Hamoud.
