Chelsea players Loftus-Cheek & Telford take part in virtual classes

Chelsea’s midfielder, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and goalkeeper Carly Telford have taken part in virtual classroom lessons, which the Club is currently running to engage with children of key workers from the NHS and other vital services.

During this difficult time, Chelsea have decided to keep delivering the programmes they usually implement across London and adapt their educational initiatives to the school closures which are currently keeping home all children in the UK.

Through their “Extra Time” online education platform, Chelsea are offering online classes to children of NHS workers and other key groups who continue to attend school during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The two players took each part in a class from two schools of London, answering the students’ questions and sharing their experience as professional footballers.

“It’s a difficult time at the moment for everyone, and of course these children are the children of key workers so I was more than happy to jump on to the call and spend some time speaking with them.” said Loftus-Cheek. “It’s great to see the Chelsea Foundation finding new ways of engaging with our supporters during this difficult time and I was delighted to be a part of that today.”
