Chelsea FC’s NEW CAMPAIGN AIMS TO SUPPORT 10,000 CHILDREN
Together with it’s global charity partner Plan International, Chelsea FC announced the launch of their new Football for Change campaign that will help transform the lives of 10,000 children.
The new campaign will officially begin on 14 December when Bournemouth visit Stamford Bridge, with the club donating £1 from each match ticket sold to the charity and inviting fans to support the cause with donations of their own.
The money raised will in part provide footballs that will be donated to communities across the world, as well as supporting projects that help children survive and thrive. By supporting Football for Change, fans will help give children who live in a refugee camp in Ethiopia after fleeing violence in South Sudan – the chance to learn, draw and play football; and be children again.
Rose Caldwell, CEO of Plan International UK, said, ‘In many of the communities we work in, football is more than a game – it brings people together, breaks down barriers and gives children the opportunity to play, have fun and develop. By providing footballs and kit to Plan International projects around the world, Football for Change will enable us to give even more children the opportunity to enjoy a childhood. Thank you to all Chelsea fans for your continued support!’
