Charlton Athletic Raised over £20,000 to feed Young People in GreenWich

With the help of members of the public, Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) and Ardmore,a family-owned construction group, raised over £20,000 to help provide a food offer across our programmes that support young people in GreenWich and Bexley this summer.

This includes enhancing the existing funded food offer on our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme which CACT runs on behalf of Royal Borough of Greenwich and London Borough of Bexley, to include breakfast, healthy snacks and food boxes for families to take home and prepare meals.  

CACT’s free tutoring courses will also benefit from the money raised as participants will now be supplied with healthy snacks and a hot meal. This will help provide vital support to families who may be struggling whilst ensuring the young people are able to fully engage in a range of fun, active and educational activities.

These funds will enable us to provide healthy nutritious meals, snacks and food boxes across our youth programmes which ensures young people are well-fed and therefore able to fully participate in the activities we offer. This is great news for the young people of Greenwich and Bexley.”

The campaign was live from 14-28 June, with The Children Trust matching all donations within the period.
