Charlton Athletic joins EFDN
EFDN is delighted to welcome Charlton Athletic Community Trust, the charity of Charlton Athletic, as a new member to the network. Since the start of their community programme in 1992, the club and its community trust work based on the needs of the community and in partnership to deliver high quality programmes with a lasting impact.
Since the inception of Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) in 1992, the Community Trust has grown exponentially as an organisation. What initially started as an individual with some footballs and a van has now transcended into a recognised and trusted provider of socially innovative projects within their delivery area, with over 100 current members of staff and a pool of around 110 sessional coaches.
The charity focuses on seven strands of delivery;
- Early Help & Prevention
- Health Improvement
- Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- Social Action & Enterprise
- Education
- Football & Sports Development
- Youth Service
Programmes have huge value for the community
CACT understand that reporting and displaying our impact within the delivery areas is pivotal to sustainable growth, as this evidence provides the foundation for further funding opportunities. CACT’s most recent Impact Report stated that for every £1 invested in a CACT programme, the community receives £6.89 as a social return on investment, displaying the tremendous value that their projects have on the communities that we operate in.
