Celtic FC Foundation’s 67 Kitchens are on course

Last year Celtic FC Foundation announced how funding from the #LionsLegacy campaign will see Celtic fans support the building of 67 school kitchens for children in the developing world. A host of Celtic supporters’ clubs are also fundraising to each sponsor one of the 67 kitchens, with each Mary’s Meals school then displaying the naming banner of its founding CSC. The Celtic FC Foundation is delighted to report that construction of kitchen facilities at the first 47 schools in the project is progressing well, and is due to be completed in spring 2018.

Pictured  below are photos displaying building progress at three of the schools situated in Malawi; in the villages of Chiwambo, Mpale and Nogwe.

In November, Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, travelled to Malawi to witness the progress of construction at these sites. This video tells the story of the trip and of the incredible difference that the 67 Kitchens will make to local communities. Each supporters’ club fundraising for one of the 67 Kitchens will receive regular updates on how the facilities are progressing, as well as their CSC name painted on a banner on the kitchen wall.

The banner will serve as a daily reminder to the children at each school that the Celtic support are behind them in building a prosperous future for their community.

As construction continues, each month Celtic FC Foundation will highlight some of the CSCs involved in the project.
