Burnley FC in the Community crowned Planet Super League Champions

Clarets’ fans have been crowned champions of the summer season of Planet Super League! The exciting football and sustainability project encourages families to make small changes that can have a big impact on the environment.

Over the 6-week season, Burnley FC fans put in amazing effort to complete planet saving activities such as upcycling a t-shirt, trying a plant-based milk or having a screen free evening!

The team went head-to-head with other football clubs each week, coming up victorious against teams such as Liverpool, Everton and Wycombe. Previous winners, Chesterfield, and Arsenal were tough competitors in the final, but Burnley came out on top, scoring an incredible 772 goals!

Overall, the teams 116 representatives completed 741 activities, scoring 1,015 goals over the season, helping to save 2,085kg of CO2, the equivalent to 119 trees! As winners, Burnley FC in the Community will receive £500 to put into its projects, to help us continue having a positive impact on the community.

The trophy will be presented to us at Turf Moor on Wednesday 1st September, with a number of our highest scoring families in attendance.
