Burnley FC celebrates the community at Liverpool Fixture
The Clarets fixture against Liverpool FC at the end of the month will be this season’s Community Day. Community Day is when the work of the Club’s official charity, Burnley FC in the Community, is highlighted and celebrated.
It’s a chance for all Burnley FC fans to find out a little more about what the multiple award-winning charity does in the local area and the many reasons why the charity is a source of real pride to the football club.
It’s a chance for all Burnley FC fans to find out a little more about what the multiple award-winning charity does in the local area and the many reasons why the charity is a source of real pride to the football club. As well as the opportunity to access plenty of information about BFCitC, Community Day is also a chance for fans to show their support for the charity by making a donation, if they would like to.
There will be a stadium-wide bucket collection prior to the game for which supporters are simply asked to bring a £1 donation for BFCitC. For those who are unable to be at Turf Moor for the matchday, donations can be made via the charity’s Community Day JustGiving campaign here. Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer of Burnley FC in the Community, said: “Community Day is always an important opportunity for us to showcase what we do and to demonstrate just how varied that work is.
“In the last season alone, we engaged with over 33,000 people in our community. We utilised the unique reach of Burnley FC to help integrate Syrian refugee families into our community, teach young carers how to cook, lift young people out of unemployment, give hundreds of females the chance to play football and support over 300 children with their mental wellbeing. And this is just a snapshot of our work. We hope all Clarets fans will help to champion our work on Community Day, either by helping to raise awareness of our work or by donating what they can.”
