Breakfast boxes for school students in Bremen

School started for over 5,000 first graders in the city of Bremen! And just in time for the first regular school day, all the children were delighted to receive new reusable breakfast boxes from SV Werder Bremen.

Together with the Senator for Children and Education, Sascha Karolin Aulepp, Werder professional football player and SPIELRAUM ambassador Manuel Mbom distributed the first boxes on Monday at the primary school on Pfälzer Weg in Bremen Tenever. At the same time, all primary schools in the city will be equipped with a total of exactly 5,140 boxes.

“We experience again and again that children don’t eat breakfast.”

“This is a super campaign, eating a healthy breakfast together at school is important for learning and fun. I wish all children a good start to the school year with this.”

“Unfortunately, we see time and again in the context of our SPIELRAUM commitment and at our partner schools that children hardly eat breakfast or not at all. Yet this meal plays a very important role. On the one hand, we want to offer pupils from the first day of school a simple, environmentally friendly way to bring breakfast from home to school, and on the other hand, we want to remind parents and the public of the importance of breakfast for children’s concentration and attention, but also for their physical performance during the day.”

What is important to SV Werder Bremen in the distribution campaign as part of SPIELRAUM is that the boxes are sustainable.

“Thanks to our partner Ornamin, we were able to provide the children with a large number of reusable and 100 per cent recyclable boxes, which are also used by our Bundesliga players and talented young players and boarders.”
