Blues fan has a good experience after winning Chelsea Foundation raffle
Chelsea fan Devon Atkins enjoyed a day to remember last month when he joined the squad for its annual photo call after winning the Chelsea Foundation 50/50 Raffle prize.
Devon, who was joined by son Frankie, met the players individually before the pair took their place either side of Frank Lampard for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Launched in September 2017, The Chelsea Foundation Raffle is dedicated to raising money for the Chelsea Foundation with 50 per cent of the funds going to winners and the other 50 per cent going back to supporting the good causes of the club’s Foundation and the cost of running the draw.
Tickets costed £2 to enter the draw, and they were bought online or at the stadium in the build-up to the game against Liverpool , Prizes included were multiple cash winners, a pair of Kepa Arrizabalaga’s signed gloves and two tickets for the visit to Newcastle on October 19.
Devon, who has been a Chelsea fan since childhood said: ‘It has been awesome, a great experience, I have absolutely loved it and it was much more than I expected. ‘When we turned up we got a mini guided tour and then came out and met all the players who signed my son’s shirt. ‘It is a great prize for a great cause and I am glad I supported the Foundation Raffles.’
Football in the Community and Education
Formed in 2010, the Chelsea Foundation brings together the Football in the Community and the Education department along with the club’s other charitable and community activities, including environment and anti-discrimination projects. The foundation is the charitable arm of Chelsea FC, an English professional football club based in Fulham, London, that competes in the Premier League. Founded in 1905, the club’s home ground since then has been Stamford Bridge. A key success of the foundation has been the strong link-ups with funding partners, local authorities, schools and agencies.
