Blackburn Rovers Introduces Rovers Adult Neurodiversity Service through Community Trust
Blackburn Rovers Community Trust announces the launch of the Rovers Adult Neurodiversity Service (RANS), following the successful securing of an initial 12-month funding period. This new programme will enable the Trust to develop and deliver a comprehensive service for adults with neurodiversity, building on the charity’s extensive experience and deep commitment to inclusivity and tailored support.
Earlier this year, the Trust marked Autism Acceptance Week and remains dedicated to raising awareness and providing support for the challenges people with neurodiversity face daily.
The new service will focus on key areas of support for neurodiverse adults aged 18 and above, including peer support groups, one-on-one support, information, advice, guidance, life skills development, group-based social and leisure activities, behavior management workshops, and employment support.
These initiatives underscore the Trust’s dedication to promoting independence, wellbeing, and community integration among neurodivergent adults, while ensuring that services remain adaptable, accessible, and grounded in evidence-based practices.
The initial 12-month funding was provided by the Trust’s partners, Spring North, and Blackburn Rovers Community Trust aims to deliver a successful pilot year, leading to continued and expanded support.
“We are always seeking new ways to enhance our wide-ranging support to meet the ongoing needs of our community. Our new service is tailored to support neurodivergent adults and help them overcome the various challenges they may face in everyday life, from life skills to employment and leisure activities.”
Gary Robinson, CEO of BRCT
“We are incredibly grateful for this funding and look forward to seeing the impact it will have on local adults living with autism. Leveraging our extensive experience, strong network of like-minded partners, and iconic facilities, we aim to offer a highly personalized service to those in need.”
Amy Dunwell, Head of Community Engagement and lead for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion at BRCT
