Blackburn Rovers Community Trust win HIVE Awards

The official charity of Blackburn Rovers were once again named as winners of the Commitment to Blackburn with Darwen Award at the annual King George’s Hall ceremony that recognises the great and good of the area’s business community. Judged by a panel of business leaders from our town, the award recognised the ongoing service that they have provided to the local area over an extended period, helping to better lives through enhanced access to education, events and numerous life-improving opportunities.

Gary Robinson, chief executive officer of the Community Trust, explained: “It’s an honour for our service to Blackburn with Darwen to be recognised by people who live and work within our borough. To not only win this award once last year but then go on to win it again this year shows that we’re making a positive sustained impact on Blackburn and the surrounding area and the beneficiaries are really taking note. I’m delighted to see the hard work of our staff being recognised in this way and proud to see that the many exciting projects that we deliver are being seen to make a genuine difference to those that need them.”

The HIVE success came just 24 hours before the Community Trust’s very own Awards night, which took place on Friday 28 with the intention of recognising all those who have made a valuable contribution to the many projects that have in turn helped the charity to win the many awards that have come its way over the past year or so.
