Big Hearts support ‘Football powers up’ project
Big Hearts, the charity of Heart of Midlothian FC, are extremely proud to be taking part in the ‘More Than Football’ Action weeks, which run from 17th March to 13th April 2023. The Scottish club charity takes this opportunity to use its platform to inform and engage with Hearts’ fans and raise awareness of the transformative role that the club can play in changing peoples’ lives for the better.
#MoreThanFootball Action weeks is a global campaign initiated by the European Football for Development Network (EFDN), for the European football community to showcase the impact of their community and social responsibility activities and programmes.
This ‘International Day of Sport for Development and Peace’, Big Hearts invite the Hearts’ family to show yet again that they are #MorethanFootball by supporting an online raffle of “match prepared” Big Hearts Day shirts. Proceeds from the raffle will be split between Big Hearts projects such as Welcome Through Football, which supports refugees weekly and the vital Football Powers Up Ukraine initiative.
Launched by FC Shakhtar and the EFDN, the Football Powers project aims to collect 160 power generators to help support those living in hugely challenging circumstances in Ukraine. Read more about the project here which has already been supported by the likes of Real Madrid, Feyenoord and Benfica.
