The Portuguese champions fulfil two more dreams through the Benfica Foundation

Last week, the Benfica Foundation helped to fulfil one of the big dreams of Anderson Moreno. Anderson, who is a huge fan of the Eagles, is nine years old and still has many dreams.

The boy suffers from a rare genetical disease and several other health issues. Last Friday, he was received at Caixal Football Campus, where his favourite team trains every day. He arrived at Benfica’s campus with his father without knowing anything about the surprise, which was awaiting him.

However, when the first player welcomed him and handed over a Benfica jersey, signed by the whole team, he started to understand. One by one, the players approached him to take pictures and to chat. After meeting the players, he still had the chance to get autographs from everyone. Moreover, he got the opportunity to meet his idol, the Brazilian striker Jonas.

A few days later, the Benfica Foundation fulfilled another wish through the ‘Make a Wish Programme’. The 13-year-old Joao Pedro, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy since being three years old, was invited to watch Benfica’s win against Tondela at the Estadio da Luz. His illness did not prevent him from watching the game and supporting the Portuguese club with passion and anxiousness, when Benfica missed several chances at the beginning of the game. After the 4-0 win, Joao met the players of the game to take pictures.

Benfica Foundation fulfilled two more dreams.
