BARCA FOUNDATION AGAINST BULLYING
Bullying has been an ever-present threat to the mental well-being of not only school children and youngsters, but also adults. Taking this into consideration, Barca Foundation has put forth an initiative to aid the prevention of the problem.
It is reported that 30% of primary school children in the Spanish region of Catalonia have been victims of an episode of bullying.
Barca Foundation has designed a program that can be adapted to the curriculums of primary schools, to instruct how to identify and prevent school bullying. By using the power of sport, especially football, the methodology addresses the societal issue through fun and participatory activities.
Subjects to be included in the teaching program include physical education, general tutoring and art. Seven sessions will be implemented by teachers, who will be trained and given pedagogical advice in order to conduct the program.
