AZ Alkmaar Foundation Launches G-Football
The Alkmaar Zaanstreek Foundation is launching G-football at AZ in collaboration with Sport Z. The G football team will play its matches in the Special Eredivisie, a league for footballers aged 10 to 18 with a disability.
The first match will be played on 12 November on a visit to FC Groningen. On 18 February, AZ will host The Special Eredivisie at the AFAS Training Complex and all participating teams will be welcomed.
Teams
Apart from AZ, ADO Den Haag, Ajax, Excelsior Rotterdam, FC Emmen, De Graafschap, FC Groningen, SC Cambuur, sc Heerenveen, VVV-Venlo, Go Ahead Eagles, NAC Breda and NEC Nijmegen are also taking part in The Special Eredivisie.
Hotel in Egmond
Hotel in Egmond made it possible for the G-team players to prepare optimally for the induction weekend. After signing their contract at the stadium on Saturday, they will be guests in Egmond this weekend. Saturday evening they will be offered a dinner and Sunday morning they will train in Egmond.
Tour of honour
The team is invited to the AZ – NEC match and at half-time the AZ public will be introduced to the new stars of the AZ G-team. To end the weekend in style, a meet & greet with AZ players will take place afterwards.
Liliane Fund
The Liliane Fund proudly appears on the players’ new shirts. In this way, G-football not only offers opportunities to disabled athletes, but also helps the Liliane Fund in its mission to improve the future prospects of disabled children in Kenya.
