Athletic Club Presents New Edition of irakurLE-ON Reading Campaign

The 2020/21 irakurLE-ON reading promotional campaign is ready. For its dissemination, three posters were designed by illustrators Maite Gurrutxaga, Jordi Lafebre and David de las Heras, which will be distributed to schools and football clubs of Bizkaia, Blibao’s region. Each of the illustrators developed the idea of presenting reading as one of the values of Athletic Club and its players, as well as an activity that fosters socialisation and connectivity.

Maite Gurrutxaga designed a poster aimed at children in which a herd of lions and lionesses read together in a calm atmosphere. Jordi Lafebre’s illustrations, also targeting young fans, associates reading with adventure and fun, showing a lioness running in the San Mamés stadium with a copy of Treasure Island in her hand, followed by a group of children. Finally, David de las Heras presented an illutration directed at an adolescent audience: a hyperrealist portrait of Athletic Club player Iñaki Williams reading Óscar de Marcos’ Togo with a panther and a lion on each side of him.

A total of eight thousand posters have been printed and published. They will be sent free of charge to schools and football clubs that joined the campaign in previous years. If your school or club wants to participate, contact info@fundacionathleticclub.eus.

The irakurLE-ON promotional campaign is linked to the literature and football festival Letras y Fútbol and has the collaboration of the Diputación Foral de Bizkaia and the Ministry of Culture and Sport.Add block
