First Team Manager Dean Smith helps raise thousands for Aston Villa Foundation
Aston Villa FC’s first team manager Dean Smith was at his engaging best as he wowed a packed-out audience of supporters at his ‘Evening With’ in the Holte Suite at Villa Park, raising £8,000 for the Aston Villa Foundation, the club’s charity which does so much good work in the region, in the process. The Q&A, hosted by Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett and attended club heroes Brian Little and Ian Taylor, covered topics including his background, his style of play and his hopes for a bright future for the club he loves so dearly.
Guy Rippon, Head of Foundation and Community Partnerships, said: “It was a fantastic event. Dean has been very supportive of the community work at his previous clubs and has already proven this to be the case at Aston Villa.
“He is obviously very passionate about the club and understands the value of the club connecting with supporters and community.
“It was terrific to have proceeds from the event donated to the Foundation to help us increase our community activities.
“Perhaps, more importantly, Dean has helped us to raise the profile of the Foundation and increase awareness among fans by showcasing our work.”
