ActivU kick-off meeting in Porto
EFDN attended the ActivU Kick-Off seminar event in Porto, Portugal, here’s what happened…
On the 11th and 12th February, EFDN and all the other ActivU project partners came together for the kick-off meeting in the beautiful harbour city of Porto. All the partners introduced themselves, discussed the work packages, spoke about the ins and outs of the project and also assigned everyone’s roles and responsibilities during the project cycle. During the seminar, the programme attendees shared ideas and talked about the research methods regarding the future development of the project and how to get former active citizens active again. The findings and conversations gathered from the event are the base from which new dialogue and future knowledge sharing of research centered around exercise and health practitioners will be disseminated. The ActivU project will aim to reach former active citizens from several countries, including Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Croatia, Serbia, Sweden, and The Netherlands.
The organisations in attendance and involved in the project, alongside EFDN are:
- Maiêutica – Cooperativa de Ensino Superior C.R.L. (Portugal)
- Fundación Universidad Isabel I (Fui1) (Spain)
- Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Margherita Sport e Vita Basket (Msv Basket) (Italy)
- Visoka poslovna škola (PAR) (Croatia)
- E-Seniors (France)
- Nordic European Mobility (NEM) (Sweden)
- Association sport for all Vojvodina (ASAV) (Serbia)
The future of ActivU:
The aim now, following the Activate Healthy Lifestyle through Counselling for You (ActivU) kick-off event is for all the partners of the programme to support former active citizens with and without disabilities. Together, all the involved parties want to increase physical activity rates by supporting the implementation of the Council, by looking at recommendations on health-enhancing PA, and by following EU Guidelines. Ultimately, the ActivU project, funded by Erasmus+programme, aims to increase awareness and behavioural change in former active citizens with and without disabilities towards a healthy active lifestyle through the enrichment of counseling and also prescription procedures to enhance the effective use of physical activity and other health-related behaviours.
