Active Blues – Everton

A partnership set up to encourage inactive people to get moving, Active Blues has been awarded the National Lottery Funding to enable inactive men in economically deprived areas to become physically active through sport.

Everton legend Kevin Sheedy says: “I know first-hand about Active Blues as I recently had a double knee replacement and have been on an Active Lifestyle Programme aimed at improving my fitness levels. It was something I really enjoyed doing would recommend the programme to any one that meets the criteria.”

Aimed at males aged 35-50 in North Liverpool, the project is delivered by Everton in the Community, Edge Hill University and BNENC Breckfield Centre, with support from Liverpool City Council.

Free weekly Active Blues sport sessions for you and your mates are ran by qualified coaches and instructors from Everton Football Club.

Active Blues Sports on offer include:

  • Walking football
  • Football
  • Golf
  • Cycling
  • Angling
  • Hiking
  • Exercise and fitness
  • Yoga and more.

Those that join the project will also have the opportunity to meet current and former Everton players, be entered into draws to win matchday tickets and stadium tours, as well as receiving other prizes along the way. You will also get the chance to socialise with other males on the programme during the other planned events as part of the programme.
