4 MORE SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED FOR OUR 17TH MORE THAN FOOTBALL CONFERENCE

The European Football for Development Network (EFDN) will host its 17th EFDN ‘#Morethanfootball’ Conference as from 09-11 May 2022 in the home city of two EFDN members in Liverpool on the 9th and 10th of May 2022. EFDN members Liverpool FC and Everton FC will host the Conference in Anfield and Goodison Park. 

This conference is the perfect platform for organisations of all shapes and sizes to share ideas and develop new concepts. EFDN is excited to meet its members and partners again in person at the largest gathering of Community and Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance( ESG) experts in European professional football. OWEN COYLE – EUROPEAN AMPUTEE FOOTBALL FEDERATION

Owen Coyle, Development Officer at European Amputee Football Federation, is the next confirmed speaker at our 17th EFDN #Morethanfootball Conference in Liverpool on 9 & 11 May 2022.

”I have been involved in Amputee Football for eight years and hold a position as the Head Coach of the England Amputee National Team, alongside working in non-executive positions within The European Amputee Football Federation and the World Amputee Football Federation.”

SUE GREGORY – EVERTON IN THE COMMUNITY

Sue Gregory, Chief Executive Officer at Everton in the Community, is the next confirmed speaker at our 17th EFDN #Morethanfootball Conference in Liverpool on 9 & 11 May 2022.

Sue Gregory is Everton in the Community new Chief Executive Officer and will oversee the continued growth of the official charity of Everton Football Club. Sue is currently Everton in the Community’s Director of Youth Engagement, Education, Employability and Sports Development, will take the helm as of 1st July 2022
Sue Gregory brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role, having successfully led and developed her area of Everton in the Community since 2012.  Sue will work closely with charity Directors and the Board of Trustees to continue to grow and develop the Club’s charitable arm and embrace the many opportunities presented by the Goodison Park Legacy – a £100m community-led regeneration project on the Goodison Park site and the opening of The People’s Place, Everton in the Community’s dedicated mental health and wellbeing hub, later this year.
 
Reflecting on her appointment as Chief Executive Officer, Sue Gregory said: “I have seen this amazing charity grow and develop enormously over the last decade and during my seven years as Director, yet there is still much more to come from us and I am incredibly excited for what lies ahead.
“The opportunity to take the reins of Everton in the Community at such a pivotal time in its history is a great honour, and I look forward to continue working closely with our fantastic staff, directors and supporters to drive the charity forwards even further.”

ROSS HOVEY – CHANGING PLACES INTERNATIONAL

Ross Hovey, Trustee at Changing Places International, is the next confirmed speaker at our 17th EFDN #Morethanfootball Conference in Liverpool on 9 & 11 May 2022.

Ross Hovey is an accessibility advocate with a passion for making the world a more inclusive place for Disabled people. He adds a huge amount of knowledge as a professional and HR Specialist working for an employer supporting 5000 disabled employees. Being disabled, he brings his own experience to life as a keen supporter travelling to matches through Europe. He is a Trustee and co-founder of Changing Places International.

The impact of Changing Places Toilets in the UK has been recognised by over £30m of government funding. They have become the norm in UK stadiums (with LFC being one of the first) and we see first hand the difference they make for the whole family on matchdays. Roll-out has started outside the UK with strong local acceptance. Find out how and why these facilities are so vital, the latest in legislation and norms, and the transformational benefits these facilities give to both communities and clubs.

Nicholas Kent, Trustee at Changing Places International, is the next confirmed speaker at our 17th EFDN #Morethanfootball Conference in Liverpool on 9 & 11 May 2022.

Nick Kent has been in the accessibility equipment sector for over 20 years and is co-founder of Aveso, who funded and supported Changing Places since 2013. After helping achieve 1700 Changing Places in the UK, from Anfield to Windsor Castle, Aveso is focussing on advising on and supporting the roll-out of Changing Places worldwide in the sports, leisure, transport and tourism industries. With EU norms now in place and legislation in the UK, Singapore, Australia and nearly 50% of the US states, the installation of Changing Places is fast moving from a nicety to a necessity.
