NEC participated in the EFDN Nobody Offside staff exchange
Everyone should be able to sport. With that thought N.E.C. Doelbewust, created in collaboration with Sportservice Nijmegen, the Special Football Program.
Within the program, clinics are held in special primary and secondary schools, so that the children are enthused for football and be informed where they can participate in the Nijmegen area in the program. There is also consisting a platform of amateur clubs in (the region) Nijmegen with the aim to jointly create a stable and secure environment. The platform also organizes its own league.
Exchange with EFDN
In May 2016 NEC participated in the Nobody Offside staff exchange that was hosted by Werder Bremen. SC Woezik, a grass roots club near Nijmegen and a member of the special football platform, went to Bremen with two staff members and two volunteers to gain experience and share knowledge.
During the week, all clubs presented their best practice activities. Other clubs that participated in the exchange were Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, FC Basel, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, and off course Werder Bremen.
The main objective of the exchange was to train a player from the selection of the special football team, in this case SC Woezik, to young coach. The player develops himself through various activities and preparations in terms of coaching and had the guidance of an experienced coach in cooperation with two staff members.
Our young coach Jan van Schadewijk, passed his examination and his license is more than deserved!
