Great fundraising result on Schalke’s Fan Day
“Schalke Hilft!” (Schalke Helps), the foundation of German Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04, announced the amount of money raised by different initiatives during the Fan Day at the club’s training centre.
Especially the raffle, that Schalke Hilft! has organised together with the fan club “Ultras Gelsenkirchen” (UGE) was once again a great success. The total of 24,500 Euro raised will help to implement a social project which the fan club has been supporting for a while. The goal of the project is to build a new artificial turf pitch for the children’s home St. Josef in Gelsenkirchen so that the children can play there in the future. The donations that were collected at this year’s raffle have brought the UGE closer to this goal.
Getting a tattoo for the good cause
Talented tattoo artists from three studios in Gelsenkirchen and the surrounding area were also active for the good cause. For 75 Euro, Fans could get a new Schalke tattoo. Half of the price went to “Schalke Hilft!” initiative, which resulted in a total donation of 2,760 Euro.
The long-time cooperation partner of “Schalke Hilft!”, “Stars 4 Kids”, was also there with two raffles at the Schalke Day. They were able to generate a donation of 17,900 Euro for Schalke’s Foundation. The Wheel of Fortune from Schalke’s health partner, the “AOK NordWest”, also raised donations of more than 800 Euro, which will be used by the foundation of the Royal Blues for its social work.
Sebastian Buntkirchen, Managing Director of the ”Schalke Hilft!” foundation, is happy with the great willingness to donate of the Schalke fans: “We are delighted that countless Schalke fans have decided to support our work again at the Schalke Fan Day. At the same time, we can help Ultras Gelsenkirchen to continue their important work in our city with the joint raffle. This cooperation really makes us proud.”
