14TH EFDN “#MORETHANFOOTBALL” CONFERENCE IN BREDA

EFDN is proud to announce our 14th EFDN “#Morethanfootball” Conference. The Conference will be hosted by NAC Breda at Rat Verlegh Stadium in Breda on the 24th and 25th of March 2020. We are expecting more than 150 representatives of European football clubs, leagues, football associations, governing bodies and other stakeholders.

As always, the EFDN Conference will include presentations and breakout sessions from experts and leaders in CSR in European football, who present and discuss their innovative work and share their opinion on current & future trends. Three months before the opening of the conference, the first parts of the programme are already settled.

FUNDRAISING, YOUTH STRATEGY AND WOMEN’S FOOTBALL

Everton in the Community presents their youth strategy and a project that should prevent grooming. The project hopes to teach young players how to conduct themselves appropriately on the internet, and how to keep themselves safe. Brentford FC Community Trust provides attendees with an insight into its fundraising strategy. Together with the club, the trust won the ‘Football League Community Club of the Year’ award four times and has cemented its reputation as a community-led football club. There will be also at least one panel discussion. EFDN and experts from other clubs and organisations discuss the development of women’s football and the implementation of CSR programmes targeting girls and women.

INSPIRING STUDY VISITS

Attendees have the opportunity to take part in study visits. NAC Breda delivers currently programmes on education, prevention of violence, social cohesion, physical activity and has also a Walking Football team. Project managers and community coaches share their experiences, show best practices and explain which challenges they face in the day-to-day delivery and how they manage to overcome them.

#MORETHANFOOTBALL ACTION WEEKS

At the 14th EFDN conference, we celebrate the kick-off of the 2020 #Morethanfootball Action Weeks which run until the 16th of April. The global campaign is a great occasion for the football community to showcase the impact of their CSR activities and programmes in their communities. By using #Morethanfootball clubs and their charities engage with fans and stakeholders and raise awareness of the transformative role European football clubs can play in changing peoples’ lives for the better. The first day of the conference sees the official launch of the campaign that reached more than 33 million people online in 2019.
