Strømsgodset IF
The Norwegian professional football club Strømsgodset IF was founded in 1907 and is based in Gulskogen, Drammen. Their home ground is the Marienlyst Stadium. Strømsgodset IF is successfully playing in the Norwegian top flight and achieved its first success in the late 1960s and the early 1970 by winning one league title and three cups. The team that led to the desired results is known as the “Rødgata Boys”. Later, Strømsgodset IF achieved further notable success by winning four national Norwegian Championships.
Strømsgodset IF is aware of the meaningful role it plays in the society and the impact it can create through Community and Social Responsibility programmes.
The Community Programmes of Strømsgodset IF
Strømsgodset IF is delivering three different community programmes, which use the power of football to address societal problems.
“Gatelaget” is a community programme targeted to people with an addiction. It is delivered in collaboration with the centre for drug prevention and the Church City Mission in Drammen. It follows the objective of providing the programme’s participants with an improved quality of life.
The second programme aims at raising awareness and preventing bullying and harassment of children. It is implemented and executed in partnership with the voluntary organisation Redd Barna.
“Blåtimen” is the third community programme of the club and focuses on the power of Strømsgodset IF to act as a role model. Through visits and sessions unique and inspiring moments are being created.
